Boxes

My Sampler Garden Box....I started on the construction of the actual box itself yesterday. It still has quite a way to go to be finished. I still have the final bottom to attach and then construct the lid itself. (don't tell....I haven't finished stitching all the accessory pieces yet! :p )Box Construction WIP

My Swan Sampler Guild Quaker Box WIP. This is the front of the box, where I have to finish the swans (over one):

Creeping Along. . .

Snail(a)

I think it's "spring fever." I just cannot seem to get myself stitching on anything for very long. This little guy is from Judy Odell's Sampler Garden. He is about all I have accomplished in the past few days that is worth showing. I keep flitting about from one thing to another....

Sampler Garden

Since the finishing class for this is fast approaching (May), I decided that I had better get it done! I have a little bit more on the top piece (with the bunnies) for it to be done. But...then there are the accessories to stitch yet!! This picture is a bit odd, in that I folded the edges of the fabric where the different pieces meet.

I have a very nice deep purple trim that I am going to use to trim the box, instead of ribbon, plus I was thinking of putting a handle on the lid to be able to lift the lid off, too.

I like this one better

This is my second attempt at choosing colors for Judy Odell's Sampler Garden.
WIP This was done with Threadgatherer's Silk'n Colors Acorn Woods on 34 count Legacy Linen, Wren Wing. I think this is the one I will stitch for the casket box.

A Couple of Finishes

This one has been stitched forever. I finally did the actual finishing on it yesterday. This is Little House Needleworks Berries freebie.

And Judy Odell's My Needlebook all done!

Now it will be back to working on my Mystery X for a bit today! I did manage to complete the upper right corner and a portion of the lower left corner....

OK - I can't seem to get the pictures to appear where they are supposed to be, but you get the idea....:)) Oh, and that is Ranger's head peeking in at the corner of the Little House picture..maybe he was afte those little birds!

JAT My Needlebook

On many of my recent projects, I have been trying to use different colors of fabric and threads than I would normally use. I tend to gravitate towards purples and greens. Now this one is still green, but an olive green, which would generally not be my first choice. This is Judy Odell's My Needlebook done on Lakeside Linen's Pear fabric with a Threadgatherer silk. My Needlebook I decided to use just one color for mine. Judy's example shows a few more colors.

I still have to stitch the part with my name and year. Once that is done, I should be able to assemble this one pretty quick:))

Ultimate Needlebook

Here's my front cover for my Ultimate Needlebook by Judy Odell. Since I scanned this picture, the colors turned out very bright. They are much deeper and richer in person. Also, last night, after looking at it a few times....I decided to take out the words.

I also finished the back cover (have to scan it later). It also turned out very nice.
Now onto the finishing of this needleboo!
