Carrots and Bumbles

Here are the four 'suits' for my playing cards.  Shown is the Ace of Bees, the Ace of Carrots, the Ace of Wool and the Ace of Cheese.  Here are two more in the carrot cards, the 2 and 3 of Carrots:

These are fun, so far.  I cannot wait to get to the Jacks, Queens and Kings!

Playing Cards?

OK, Dave (the husband), suggested I do a deck of cards in watercolors. I said, "Maybe..."  Well, after having to decide on four suits, here is the "Ace of Bumbles."  Keep an eye out for the "Ace of Carrots!'  Keep in mind, it is only 3" by 4".

Bumbles

There's something about the chubby, little bodies that I find appealing of those bumble bees.  So, another little sketch turned into a water color.

Harley

I made another Harley the Hedgehog....this one, stitched.

Spooky....

Well, not so much.  Here's a picture of one of the houses in my "Spooky Towne" project.  A few different homes to such creatures as Frankenstein, Dracula, Mr. Skelly Bones, a mummy...you get the idea, right.  The creatures themselves are not necessarily going to be a part, just where they live in "Spooky Towne."  :0))

The title for the block is "Pushing Up Daisies."  I know...definitely a warped sense of humor. ;))

Hall'ewe'ween!

A few little bulbs

One more of the small blocks for my garden-themed project.  I am also working on a happy sun block, as well..almost done. Meanwhile, here's a look at those bulbs:

 

I am working on a few blocks with words to go with this one.  Reap, sow, grow and plant are a few of the words, which are stitched in wool felt.   The words will be a few different greens, but all on the same background.   The first one:

Bumbles

That's what I have been calling them...they are just so chubby and cute, my bumble bees, that is.

Very quick and easy to stitch; my kind of 'bug!'  :))

Bzzzzz. . .

and bzzzz....

What's a buzz, you say?  Take a peek at my little baby bee peeking out of the entrance to the bee hive.

 

She's very small...only three inches wude from petal to petal!

Garden Blocks

Take a peek at a few more of the silly, little blocks I am creating for my 'garden' sampler quilt.

And, finally, one that may or may not make it into the quilt.   This is one that has, and will more than likely,  always be in my yard.  As is said, "A face only a mother could love."  LOL!  Not that crabgrass has a mother.....or a face!

 

 

So...should little Crab-E make it into the quilt or not?  :))

DANDELION

All wool felt on cotton fabric.

Bugs and such...

So, something else new (of course)....always got something goin'!  Maybe a garden theme...the critters, the bugs, the birds and the flowers, too.  Probably a sampler type format.  The blocks will only be 6."  And a few of the 'bugs and such' right here:

These guys are stitched with wool felt and a bit of fabric.  I am going to try and stay within a certain range of colors, the deep golds, olive green, black (of course!), grey and tan.  I'll see how that works out!

Baby Giraffe

My baby giraffe needs a name...Geoffrey is already taken by Toys R Us...I'll have to think on this one for a while.  Any suggestions?  Here he is all decked out in his pretty striped tie!

New beginnings

Another new quilt is just beginning.  A baby quilt this time! 
Exciting news!  I am going to be a grandmother this summer.  Of course, there has to be a baby quilt.  I designed a fun, little guy just for my son and his wife.   Here's just a tiny peek:

Cupcakes and Kisses

 Cupcakes and kisses!  Part of another brainstorm of mine! ;)  The colors are a bit different from what I usually choose.  Trying to venture 'out of the box' a bit.  However, there will still be a few sheep and a bunny, too!  Oh, and hearts....lots of hearts!
