Dancin'

Done, done, completely done! Mini Mandala Mystery IV! I put all those beads on yesterday, as well as filled in any missing stitches. I added gold braid fan stitches for the four inner corners. This is where the crystal cubes where supposed to go, but they just seemed "not right" to me. Take a peek:

MMM04

Long time - no see! But after working on it all last night, I can finally say...the stitching on this one is done, done, done! Lots of beads to attach around the border and some parts in the middle, but I will try and get those done sometime today or so.

Bye-bye flutterbies!!

Well, the butterflies will be flying south! I thought even as I was attaching them that they were too large. I did buy the smallest ones available at the store. Thanks for all the advice...:)

I'm sure I will find a very nice home for them soon. After all, with all the WIP's I have, I'm sure they will look great somewhere! ;))

In fact, I just started (oh no! another one!) Castles in the Sky Mystery by Papillon Creations. The very center portion is the formal garden...I could have one or two fluttering around in there! I started the first portion yesterday and have about half of it done....maybe a picture tomorrow.

...and a little teaser...I started it on a fabric that I painted myself! So far, I really like how it looks! I have the mandatory threads as well as the ones that I chose for my flowers. Think...jewel tones....;)

Butterflies or Cubes?

MMM04(f)

Here's my update on Mini Mandala Mystery IV by Chatelaine Designs. Those four crystal butterflies in the corners, too big? Martina had originally called for the usual crystal cubes that she uses in every design. I saw these little butterflies when I was in A. C. Moore the other day and bought them. I like the idea that there is still the crystal, as Martina had intended. But-- I also like the idea of something different. Oh, and yes, the middle square was supposed to be another large crystal cube. Margit, Anne Marieke and I have shared charms for the previous three mandalas (a ladybug, a bee and a dragonfly). I think the hummingbird is perfect for this one.

Something totally different

....yet again! After seeing Margit's wonderful progress on MMM04, I pulled my little mini mandala back out from hiding again. I actually made some decent progress on this one.

Skipping around

Another one of those weeks...I worked a little on this, a little on that...

Here's my first WIP, MMM04 by Chatelaine Designs:

I really have been stitching....

HEATHER

I found a packet of the Mill Hill 2026 beads that I needed to complete this little Letter Fairy - "H" Heather.

Since I got the NPI that I ran out of from The Stitching Post on Friday, I finished the beading and the Rhodes stitches on my Mini Mystery Mandala III.

Mini 03

I worked on this little mandala again last night.

You can see where I had completed the second row of black (the night before), the rust areas, a few Rhodes stitches and just barely a start with another village. Oh, and yep, another scanned picture.

Mini Mandala III

Martina released the last part for this little mandala a day early. I worked on one of the corners with the little buildings:\\

Part 2 - Done!

I finished up Part 2 of MMM03:

Part 2(B)

The next part has all the rust colored buildings. I'm looking forward to getting this one done.

More MMM03

Here's one of the corners for MMM03, showing DMC 3761, which I substituted for the DD Snowy River thread. The DD thread was too pale and looked mostly white to gray with about an inch of blue.

And...my overall progress:

MMM03

More of Part 2. I was not too happy with how the recommended Snowy River thread looked on my white fabric. It was going to be the last row in the outer border. Too pale on my white fabric. I decided to try another thread, Mediterranean Waterlily, with a final row of black for the outer border. I still used the recommended Snowy River for the Rhodes stitches.

MMM03

We finally received the charts for Part 2 of the Mini Mandala Mystery III yesterday.
Thanks to Anne Marieke who figured out the correct placement for this next part, I was able to get the central outline of the cross shape in place as well as start the outer corner.

A better picture

Mini Mandala Mystery III....a better picture than this morning's.

MMM03 WIP(cd)

MMM03

MMM03 WIP(c)Part 1 is done! I think that this one is my favorite out of the mini mandalas, so far. I just love the colors and shape of this one. I had found some of the 078 beads - but I only had about 30 beads. The entire mandala requires more. However, there were enough of those 078's to at least fill in the center area. I'll add the beads as soon as I receive them.

More Midnight Stitching

OK, I really do not want this to become a habit! But look at the pretty results of my "midnight madness." This is a WIP of Part 1 of the Mini Mandala Mystery III by Chatelaine Designs. Much prettier in person. That gold really does shine! Now to finish up the other three sides. Hopefully, during the day this time!

Dancin'...Dancin'.....

Happy Dancing - I put the last bead on my Mini Mandala Mystery II this morning! Remember all those Jessicas? Well, I did mine a bit differently than was charted. There are the Jessicas in the corners, the center and on top of the stems in the outer border. The rest of the pink flowers in the border are little Rhodes stitches. MINI MANDALA MYSTERY II

Slowpoke

yep...that's me...well...at least on my Mini Mandala Mystery. I finally finished the cross stitching for the outer borders. I'll stitch the Rhodes stitches next. Then...drum roll, please, the Jessicas! Actually, if you look I did stitch the Jessicas around the center portion. :)

MMM02 002

After looking at my post...I noticed my ladybug is crooked. Since I scanned this it just moved when I put the cover down on the scanner. It really is straight.=)

Outer Borders

(Yep, another scan.) Click on the picture to see the entire piece. Two of them are done! Two more to go! ....then....those Jessicas...I know, I know. Why wait and do them all at the end? In my own twisted logic if the rest of the piece is finished with the exception of those little stitches...I will have to finish it, since it is already too pretty to put away. They will be the "icing on the cake." The colors in these outer borders are very nice and bright. Even though the directions call for three strands for the Rhodes stitches, I used two. I don't care for how thick they look with three. MMM02
