Wow! l,000 blog posts....A big milestone, considering I did not think I would ever continue blogging when I first started. :)
Anyway, where I have been the past few days? Working away on the layout for my little Annabelle. No pictures, as yet. I want to have a little bit more put together first. ;)
But....look what I received as a present from Dianne at Hooven Sewing Center:

Whoo Hoo!! More lovely presents in the mail! How lucky am I? There is a great project book for felt...I love the Christmas house pattern in this one. A little kitty notepad and two very pretty ribbons - one with ladybugs (my favorite) and one with butterflies, which is very light and delicate. And...crystals for the Baroque Garden I am working on by Chatelaine Designs. :)) Almost forgot the little white ribbon roses! Everything just made me smile. :)) BUT this

First, let me apologize to Anne Marieke. She sent me this gorgeous ornament as a Christmas present. Beautiful, isn't it? I totally forgot to post a picture of it when I got it, as I wanted to hang it up where I could see it right away. Thank you, thank you so much,
Anne Marieke!
Second, my first ornament of the SAL with Anne Marieke, Ineke, Isabelle and Giovanna is from Little House Needleworks. It is the first in their yearly series, called Fa La La. I have to find some nice red beads to attach, which are the final touch for this one. :)
(Plus, I may take out the red French knots for the mouths....as I am really not happy with the clowny look they give the little girls faces.)

That was part of my Christmas present from Isabelle. Beautiful fabrics (I love the toile), some Christmas colored floss, plus some DMC Satin floss, and a beautiful trim that reminds of icing on a cake!
But the most gorgeous part of the gift was a hanging ornament from the first block of Christmas at Hawk Run. Now - since my pictures are not usually the greatest...I am going to link to Isabelle's blog, where she has an absolutely wonderful picture.
Present (ooops! here's a link to the front page of Isabelle's blog....Isabelle
Fantastic, isn't it? Isabelle's work is always perfection (just in case you did not take a look around her blog.) I also want to take this opportunity to thank her for all the wonderful gifts she has sent me. All are truly appreciated. Thank you, Isabelle!
Now up next is another picture...this one really is not very good...but it is difficult to get a picture of a quilt. This shows more of the fabrics I used, plus the perfect fabric I found for the border at Bears Paw Fabrics (although you can only see a very little bit of it.)

Did I say that Tuesday was a GREAT mail day? Well, I should have. First...my new scroll rods came. Second, the kit for Judy Odell's Lady's Cabinet was there, too. As if getting new stash and new project materials wasn't enough....this (I should say - all) came, too.
Margit had told me she was sending me a little extra something for my birthday. Now she had already joined with Anne Marieke to send me a beautiful McKenna Ryan quilt pattern and kit. So...a little something???
First there's the book...in German--but Margit can always translate for me, right?;) Gorgeous sewing, stitching and finishing projects. The little heart ornament was attached to the package--too cute, isn't it? But...look at those fabrics and threads!! But you have to understand, Margit dyed these herself! Aren't they wonderful?
You know...I haven't started my Nora Corbett Sunflower Fairy yet...I wonder how her threads would look on that gorgeous green fabric? And the blue....hmmm...Maybe my Mermaid Sampler.....lots of ideas going through my head for these two gorgeous fabrics.
Many, many thanks go out to you Margit....you know the way to a stitcher's heart!
(Only problem is, I love looking at the fabrics so much that I don't want to stitch on them!)

More birthday gifts came in the mail for me yesterday!
McKenna Ryan's quilt pattern "Morning Mews." Plus all the wonderful fabrics to create this beautiful kitty quilt.
The bonus? The kitty looks very similar to my crazy kitty, Klawd... :)
Thank you, both, Anne Marieke and Margit for choosing such an "appropriate" pattern for me.
With all the special presents from my "far away" friends, this year's birthday is turning out to be very special indeed.

Finally ~ Some batteries for my camera.
Now I was able to take a few pictures of the wonderful gifts that Isabelle sent to me earlier in the week! I had told her I was going to work on Bunny Hills, Vintage Christmas Quilt. She picked out all these wonderful Christmas fabrics for me. Gorgeous, aren't they? Plus, look at the wonderful ribbons and trims. Some of the fabrics are quite sparkly, too! Now I will have to decide how to use them in this Christmas quilt.
She also sent quite a few little buttons for me, as well as some rose colored ribbons and pink hearts:
You can see it in the picture above, although not very well. There is a thimble with a lady's picture. This is from the area in which Isabelle lives in France. She told me that the lady's headdress shows where she is from by the way it is made. Isabelle said that different areas have different style headdresses.
Take a peek:
