A whole lot of #580!

Quite a bit of DMC #580  more than half the skein...but I thought it would easier to fill in this portion, and then go back and do all the leaves with the lighter green and beads.  I did not notice it from the cover photo, but there are quite a few beads in the tree.

"S"

Meet little Samantha..my latest little alphabet fairy.  Letter S of the series...my little fairy sits and awaits her letter to be stitched!  Very unusual design for the letter itself, this time....more of a patchwork type appearance.

Oh, and Bunny Patch is done!  Pictures later, possibly.

Whew!!

Very, very difficult to get the pictures I really wanted for this one.  Big -  humongous Happy Dance time!

The Reindeer Quilt Is Done!!  WooHoo!! A few shots...and yes, some of them are a little bit weird angles.....there are still a few crystals I want to attach, but they probably would not show in any of the photos any way.

Mind you, this quilt takes up the entire top of my kitchen table!

Above you can see the connecting ribbons and crystals I attached to each reindeer.

You can see one of the reindeer names that I quilted into the border on this one.   And ...my little verse for Rudolph.

I must say - cross stitching and quilting were not the easiest thing to combine...but overall, I am pretty happy with the end result.

Odd

  • Odd that I am stitching this particular design at all.
  • Odd that I am stitching this design, and am not sure I like it.
  • Odd colors for a Christmas tree ~ red ornaments, yes....red tree....hmmmm
  • Odd, but as an avid collector of Mirabilia Designs, only bought this to put in my collection, and now I am stitching it.
  • Odd that is has less actual stitching on it, compared to the ton of beads, larger beads, marguerites, teardrops and braid.
  • Odd, but it did not receive the rave reviews that Nora's designs usually do.
  • Odd, but can you tell I am having fun with these little "bullets?"
OK, OK, enough with the "oddness"....:)) Here it is, my progress on Mirabilia's 2009 Christmas Tree(the urn below the tree is also finished, just not pictured):

freebie

A little more on the 2009 Mirabilia freebie. The chart is available for download now on the Mirabilia website. :)) I think this one is very unusual for her cherubs. Very bright colors, plus the "cherub" is totally different than the previous years. To me, it looks more like a Christmas card. Not that it is a bad thing...just different. ;)

The long holiday weekend is over. You would have thought I could have done a lot of stitching. You know how it goes....it was just one of those weekends where I picked up five or six different projects and just stitched a little on each. No one particular design seemed to keep my interest for very long. But at least a little progress was made on each...just not really picture worthy.

Freebie

I tried. I really, really tried. Not to start another new project. I held off for two days. Then she kept calling me and calling me. I had to answer....you know how that goes. :)

Mirabilia's 2009 Free Cherub. I don't think she looks like a cherub at all. Pretty, nonetheless.
She is holding a trumpet with a banner hanging below. I am missing a few threads and all the beads. I used Crescent Colours Sassy Brass, since I was missing DMC 869. This is only about half the design.

Even more bling!!

Winter White Santa(aa)

Lots and lots of sparklies on this little tree! It is still only about two-thirds done...more green and then the presents beneath the tree.....

Bling!

....Athough it is a bit wrinkled (sorry), here is an update on my Mirabilia Sleigh. I'd say it's about 2/3 done at this point.

The Sleigh WIP(p)

Working on the Sleigh may see like it came out of nowhere...but I have an ulterior motive....it's still related to quilting! I had planned on making a quilt out of my reindeer, my Winter White Santa and the Sleigh. Original plan - maybe for this Christmas....at the rate I am going, it might happen by next Christmas! :)

But that won't stop me from looking at fabrics, you think? ;)

Winter White Santa(g)

Progress picture! He has an arm and a mitten. That will be a little dove resting in his hand, once I stitch all the white!

A Face!

Yeah!! My Santa has a face!! I always like to stitch the heads on my Mirabilia's. I know a lot of people don't like to have the face until the end. Not me! I always enjoy doing Nora's faces. There is still some white Wisper thread to be filled in on his hat. I usually tend to stitch my Wisper thread later. I'm still deciding whether or not to replace it with DMC.

Update - WWS

Winter White Santa(c)

Look at all those red beads!! There are lots of sparklies on this one!

Now should I work on all that white for his beard....or move to the right hand side of his staff where there is a little more color? ;)

Venetian Opulence

I needed something a bit uncomplicated to work on yesterday. Venetian Opulence - not that this design isn't complicatedl! On the contrary...but the portion I worked on was really just a lot of straight lines.....

Venetial-WIP(b)

Nora Corbett is such a wonderful designer. Just a few golden colors with a dark one thrown in... make this design just pop off the fabric!

(ooops...added the wrong picture at first...)

Venetian Opulence and Nora's Alphabet

Venetian Opulence WIP(b)
My WIP for Mirabilia Designs Venetian Opulence. I started at the very top for this one. Just a little bit more until I get to the lady's head.

And and update on my alphabet....

Emerging from the Pile

is my Woodland Fairy. She has been a WIP for a very long time. Since sorting all my stash, I had set her aside to work on again. She is such a pretty fairy and I want to see my WIP pile come down a little bit....Woodland Fairy WIP

(I am probably going to redo those backstitch lines on her arm, or add a lot of little quarter stitches to fill everything in....I really just do not like all those empty spaces that show. I need to backstitch her lips, too...just did not have DMC 915 to finish them.)

Athena

I worked on the bottom portion of my Scream House yesterday. I have almost finished the outer border. Just the little design in the center to do yet. Every picture I take of this one seems to come out blurry - not sure why.

Then, later last night I pulled Athena out and worked on the column and her gown for a little while.

Forward and back

Well, I made some progress on Athena. I stitched some of the gold colors on my first column. But, I also had to take out some of the foliage I had already stitched to the far right of that column. Hence, a little bit forward and a little back.

Second...

Athena:

I did manage a little bit of progress on her last night. The bits of the gold column on the right...every little bit helps, right?
