Snow Happy Hearts

August Snow Happy Heart

Totally forgot to post a picture of my Bunny Hill Snow Happy Heart for August.  Here she is with her bucket and shovel for a day at the beach.  She better not stay out too long!!

September has the little snowman(lady) getting ready for school.

Two fun and quick blocks to make...now I am ready for October!

July!

How can it be?  July, already??   A half of a year gone by?  Zoom.......I thought I would have a few more projects completed by now.  I've already seen some things about Halloween!

Anyway, I did finish the July Snow Happy Heart.  Another cutie from Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs.

A look at the overall block in my quilt.

And, yet another new idea....monthly blocks highlighting my Little Bo Sheep.  These will be able to be used as individual blocks for different uses, or as an overall full-size quilt.   Rather than start at the beginning of the year, here she is for July, being so very patriotic with her 'liberty' hat and flag.

Happy July Bo!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope every one is having a great summer!

Pumpkins

Don't know what it is...quilts with pumpkins appeal to me...the whole autumn theme I guess is a favorite of mine.  Needless to say, when I saw Bunny Hill's Pumpkinville, I signed up for a BOM right away.  I really liked the wool version (Pumpkin Hollow), but couldn't find a shop who was doing it, at the time.  This is the first time I have done a BOM through The Fat Quarter Shop.  You receive the entire set of patterns at once.  You are also to complete two sections of the quilt, which is the equivalent of three blocks.

Here is Block #1: (lots of wrinkles-sorry-,as I was too impatient to iron it before the picture).

Pictures!

OK...let's just get right to it...lot's of pictures today.  Some of these I should have posted a while ago, and some were finished recently.  Updated photos of some of the projects I have in the works.
First:

The Pumpkin and Pinwheel block from Blessings of Autumn.
Next:
the Indian Corn portion of the second block from Blessings of Autumn.  There are still three large leaf applique blocks for this one.  Check out the 'corn' fabric!
Third:  An updated Block three from Merry, Merry Snowmen.  This one has been done for a while.  It still required all the embroidery.
And Block six from Merry, Merry Snowmen, finished last night:
and onto The Wish Quilt....
Here is the block with Santa and all the toys (for good little girls and boys!).  The stars with the names are little pockets that are to be used to place a small piece of paper with your 'wish(es)' for Christmas.
and last, but not least, Brutus, from The Wish Quilt:

Busy, busy

Maybe it's the hint of spring in the air; it has certainly perked me up a bit.  I worked on quite a few things the last couple of days.  I finished attaching the binding for my Bewitched quilt.  I still have to take pictures, but will  have to take Blessings of Spring down off  my quilt rack/shelf first. :)

Since it's release I have been working on Raining Cats and Dogs by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs. I am up to date on this one, with only the applique remaining for Block 4.  Here are a few pictures.  I (once again) have to apologize for the wrinkles.  I have had these put away since completing them in the past few months.  I kept forgetting to take pictures for this project.

Block 1.  I did change the style of the wording in the window and added a few little paw prints.
Block 2....love the little plaid doggie!
Block 3...another cute little plaid doggie, plus a plaid kitty!
Another update for my Christmas quilt.  I seemed to keep stalling on this one; every time I start to do another part, I change my mind about what I want.  Remember those funny little reindeer?  Now they are in their own completed block!
Another small section of a different row...my Santa key.  You know...not all houses have chimneys.  So your children will ask you, "How does he get into our house on Christmas Eve?"  The Santa key, of course!  It's the one he carrries with him that magically opens any and all doors, so that he can deliver the presents.:))  I actually bought one of these keys to hang on our doorknob at Christmas when my sons were small, since our house does not have a fireplace or chimney. ;)
Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments and encouragement.

Tiny Town

Ta Da!!  A finish....(this is a picture before the last borders were applied).  Another top complete...I am trying to tidy up that huge WIP pile.  Not to worry....there are plenty more to replace the ones I have completed.  Tiny Town started last year as a BOM with Shabby Fabrics, completed a little later than anticipated...but nevertheless, DONE!

Lots of fun things going on in this one...the little owl on top of the firehouse,  a dragonfly, a quilt shop, a polka-dotted "Beetle" car, and a very pretty birdie in a cage, to name a few.

~ All Done!! ~

Phew!! Yeah! My third and final Henrietta Whiskers is done! First, there was the blue version...(which went to Bears Paw Fabrics as a shop model). Then there was my red version. And now....ta da!!! My pink one!

The main reason it has taken me so long to finish it was the outer border. I could not find I fabric that was 'just right.' I like this one...it has a very subtle stripe, which I placed horizontally for the borders.

One change I made was to add an extra Henrietta on the bottom border.  She was also given the largest acorn of all!

Second, I  made a four-patch block for the corners instead of the square in a square.

A major PINK Happy Dance!!

A BIG CHRISTMAS FINISH

What?!!  I actually met one of my goals for this year?  Woohoo!!! I wanted to finish the top for my "The Night Before Christmas" quilt before this Christmas.  And...believe it or not...I put the last applique star on it yesterday!  Above is almost the entire top.  Here is the upper portion:

And, the lower portion:

"TUIT"

Most of us know what that is...'tuit'...you know a round tuit.  The everlasting symbol of procrastination.  "I'll do it when I get 'around to it."  Right?  All quilters, stitchers have those projects, don't they?  I cannot be the only one with a 'few' projects that are on my TUIT list.  There always seems to be a new project that will get me totally distracted and another one goes onto the TUIT list/pile.
I have been making a small attempt to clean-up my TUIT list.  One of the projects was Postcard Cuties for Winter by Bunny Hill Designs.  All that was left to do was to finish the applique on two scalloped borders and the four corners.  I am proud to say that this one is now crossed off that every-growing list!
Now...what's next?  ;)

Another Henrietta

I finished up the last of the applique and the buttons today on my red version of Henrietta Whiskers.  I changed the top border and the bottom one, too.  I used the logo from Bunny Hill Designs for  Henrietta Whiskers for the additons.  A view of the top portion:

Last, but not least, overall:

Henrietta...and a friend....

I have been working along on my borders for my red version of Henrietta Whiskers, a free BOM offered by Bunny Hill Designs.  I had all my little pieces attached and some of them stitched in place.  I thought I would stretch it out across the sofa to get a better look at it overall.  I wandered off into the kitchen for a minute or so..and when I came back:

Henrietta had found a new friend!
Needless to say, two hours later...I am still waiting for Klawd to finish "visiting" with Henrietta!

A BIG FINISH!

Yesterday I was able to complete the entire quilt top for my blue version of Henrietta Whiskers, the free BOM that has been offered by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs.  (The patterns will be available through December.)  So, presenting my 'blue' Henrietta Whiskers, the top portion:

the bottom:
and, overall:
The only way I could get any picture of it at all was to clip it to my fence out back....excuse the clothespins (and the shadows from the roof overhang)!
Only two more versions to finish! ;)  Working on the red one now.

Back to Your Regularly Scheduled Program

I forced myself to put my 'Bewitched' project aside for a few days.  Yes...the beginning of the month 'guilt'  has set in.  I completed Block 4 for Blessings of Spring from Shabby Fabrics.  It has a very pretty fussy-cut vase with some bright colored tulips.

After starting on the block, I also got the next block for Henrietta Whiskers ready.  This is the blue version for Bears Paw Fabrics.  I also fussy cut all the little windows and door for this block.
I don't think I posted a picture of Block 7 for this one, so here you go:
I really like the fabric I used for her house.
(My editing was horrible.  My little squirrel has a bit of a "glow", it seems.  Oops!)

From Halloween to Christmas

I made a list.  A pretty loong list.  Of what?  My quilting WIP's (notice I did not say ALL my WIP's).  It was actually to give myself an idea of what I might be able to finish before the end of the year.  After looking at this list, I tried to decide which project(s) I would like to really have done.  Of course I want them all done, but let's face it, that's not gonna happen!

After Halloween-themed projects, Christmas comes in pretty close as my next favorite.  With that in mind, I decided to work and try and catch up with Night Before Christmas by Bunny Hill Designs.  I actually made some decent progress.  I put together all the 'pieces' for Block 5.  Then I began working on Block 6, a cute little mouse with a present and Santa.  It is done!

My cute litle girl mouse. :)

Santa.....

and Block 6, all together!

I started on Block 7, too!  Now I am really starting to feel like I am getting somewhere!  And....drumroll, please....all six blocks are assembled together now, too.   Not too shabby for three days work.   No pictures of all six, yet.  Stay tuned!

Another Wednesday!

Shhhh!  my little mouse is sleeping!
A bit of a change of pace...this is the bottom portion of Block 5 of Night Before Christmas by Bunny Hill Designs.  There are a few very tiny pieces in tis one...that little mouse head is probably about the size of a quarter.

I needed a little break from Heart's Desire, as I have been going pretty strong on that one for a while.  The last portion will be released on the 15th!  Can't wait to see what's in store for us!

Block 5 and 6

Henrietta Whiskers' time again!  I am definitely a bit behind, thanks to my work on Heart's Desire.  The blue version of Blocks 5 and 6:

Here is Block 5.  Cute. :)  This is the central block in the entire quilt.  Henrietta and her little baby.

I know what everyone will think...black squirrels?  Most squirrels are grey or brown, right?  Well, actually, here in Harford County, Maryland there is a small area where there are black squirrels. :))
So, I guess these little guys are my tribute to them.  They sure do look as if they are having a good time, leaping around, don't they?
And a general idea of the overall quilt.  There are only three blocks left to go, as well as the top and bottom borders.

Henrietta, again!

Can you believe another month has gone by since the last block for Henrietta Whiskers by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs?  Each block is just cuter than the last.  This one has Henrietta's little baby!  It will be the center block within the whole quilt.  Now to finish up my other two versions, as well as my blocks for Heart's Desire.

Thanks for stopping by!

Night Before Christmas

It seems funny to be posting something that has to do with Christmas this time of year, doesn't it?  I (finally) redid my Block 2 for Night Before Christmas BOM.  I had majorly messed up my first attempt....don't ask. :)

Good news is,  it is done,  and I am currently caught up with at least one of my BOM's. It is a bit difficult to get a nice flat picture when our fan is blowing the block around!

Block 2 Night Before Christmas
A  lot  of  work!  But - I am pretty happy with how it turned out (this time). ;)
Especially (this is for you - Anne Marieke!)  the little mouse's hands and ears!

A red Christmas tree?

Yes!  A pretty, red Christmas tree!  This is Block 4 for Night Before Christmas by Bunny Hill Designs.  It has been the simplest block to complete,so far.

And now red

Henrietta Whisker, Block 4.  Well, the little squirrel is not in this month's block, but Sophie and friend are here.  With the exception of Sophie's necklace, the block is done.  Once again, another fun one and quick to do.
