My nutcracker has a new friend!

My nutcracker looks very happy to have a new friend!:))

Count me happy, too, with a fun finish! My new Advent Angel by Robin Betterley for Wilmington Fabrics.  http://greatamericanquilt.com/store/choirofangels.html  She starts out as a flat panel of fabric.  Pretty much everything is included, except for her hair, chenille stems, interfacing and stuffing. (A few of the extras are what I visited Joanne Fabrics for yesterday.)   For approximately $15-$20 (I did get the panel fabric on sale for about $7.00), all that turns into this:
She has 24 little pockets to hold candies, trinkets and treasures for Advent.  She is holding #25 made into a little bag in her hands.  She is not a complete doll.  Her lower body rests in the top of a quart Mason jar (which, I am thinking, would be a good place to keep all that extra candy!)

I am thrilled with how she turned out.  Since today is the first of December, I better get cracking and fill her up with some treats!

Happy December!

Done!

My Vintage Christmas quilt top is done! I'm pretty pleased with how it all came together.
Here are a couple of views:
It is quite difficult to get a picture of the entire thing....
But you get the general idea. :) Time for a Happy Dance!

Thanks for coming by and having a look!

Fused

OK ~ I thought it might be fun (for me at least) to try and come up with one word titles for my posts....Let's see how long I can last.;^}

The reindeer border for my Vintage Christmas quilt is "fused." Now all I have to do is attach everything permanently! The border is quite long, so here are a few little pictures of the different sections...each a bit bunched up, so as not to show all the fabric between each reindeer.

You can also see where I will have to embroider the antlers and the ribbons. Once all the embroidering and attaching are done, this is the last part to be attached to the quilt!

The star blocks are the top corners.

Yes!

Almost there! Here's a shot or two of my Vintage Christmas quilt. The top border and the bottom borders are not attached just yet. The top one will have three reindeer and a sleigh with presents appliqued. The bottom has to be sewn together with the star corner blocks, then attached to the main portion of the quilt.
Thanks for coming by!

Yeah!! The final block is done! Now it is onto the borders and corners. There is some applique in the border, as well.

Blocks #5 and #6....

plus more bunnies! I have been quilting on my Rabbit Run....only the two side borders to go!
(The white marks on the bottom border are from the chalk pen marker I used-it will come off with water.)

And I also finished the piecing on Blocks #5 and #6 for my Vintage Christmas:

Now you know those stray threads weren't there when I put the quilt block on the table, right? I think little gremlins come flying in as soon as they see me with my camera out! ;)
And Block #6:

The flowers, bells and present:

For some reason, Blogger rotated my second picture....hmmm....well, you can see I was busy yesterday. Two quilt blocks traced, cut and pieced in one day! Woohoo!

Block #2

Vintage Christmas quilt by Bunny Hill Designs...Block #2 finished.
(the ric-rac on the cake does lay flat...I must have messed it up when I was moving the block around.)
