An Oldie, but a Goodie!

Annabelle, my bunny rabbit.  She is one of the very first of my designs I used for part of a quilt.  Here's one of my favorite blocks of Annabelle with her sheepie pull toy.  I finally finished the hand quilting on this one, which was started a few years ago.

* * * A Haunted House ****

Maybe, but I think the ghosts may be a bit too friendly to do much haunting!

Another house for my "Spooky Towne" neighborhood.

Friday, October 7, 2016

Well, not so much.  Here's a picture of one of the houses in my "Spooky Towne" project.  A few different homes to such creatures as Frankenstein, Dracula, Mr. Skelly Bones, a mummy...you get the idea, right.  The creatures themselves are not necessarily going to be a part, just where they live in "Spooky Towne."  :0))

This one belongs to....can you guess?

Skelly Bones...

The title for the block is "Pushing Up Daisies."  I know...definitely a warped sense of humor. ;))

Thanks for stopping by!

My little garden blocks

I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with all those little 6"garden blocks I have been making.  I finally decided on a layout for most of them.  The borders will be added, once I finally decide on the colors.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look. ;)

Sunny, with a chance of cuteness!  Every garden needs a little sunshine!

And another ray of sunshine was welcomed on August 2, 2016:  Baby Samuel, at 7 lbs. 5 ounces,  our first grandchild!

A few little bulbs

One more of the small blocks for my garden-themed project.  I am also working on a happy sun block, as well..almost done. Meanwhile, here's a look at those bulbs:

I am working on a few blocks with words to go with this one.  Reap, sow, grow and plant are a few of the words, which are stitched in wool felt.   The words will be a few different greens, but all on the same background.   The first one:
I hope you are able to 'reap' all the benefits of summer!

That's what I have been calling them...they are just so chubby and cute, my bumble bees, that is.
Take a peek.

This is a smaller one.
Here's one that's a bit bigger:
And, a ladybug, too!

Very quick and easy to stitch; my kind of 'bug!'  :))

Bzzzzz. . .

and bzzzz....

What's a buzz, you say?  Take a peek at my little baby bee peeking out of the entrance to the bee hive.

She's very small...only three inches wude from petal to petal!
More to come!

Garden Blocks

Take a peek at a few more of the silly, little blocks I am creating for my 'garden' sampler quilt.
First, a spunky chipmunk with his snack...

A funky, portable birdhouse!
A chubby little birdie!

And, finally, one that may or may not make it into the quilt.   This is one that has, and will more than likely,  always be in my yard.  As is said, "A face only a mother could love."  LOL!  Not that crabgrass has a mother.....or a face!
So...should little Crab-E make it into the quilt or not?  :))

Simply Splendid

Here are a few of my Simply Splendid Sampler blocks (you can find them on Pat Sloan's blog).  I do like doing the applique ones a bit more than the pieced ones, right now.  I have done a few of the pieced ones, as well, but just a few quickie shots of a couple of my favorites.

One of the bonus blocks.

One of my very favorites, so far.

A cute bunny block from Bunny Hill Designs.

Another bonus block

My fussy cut heart.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, these blocks are only 6 inches square.

...and such

Who doesn't have a few, maybe more, (LOL!) of these fluffy fellows in their yard or garden?

All wool felt on cotton fabric.

Bugs and such...

So, something else new (of course)....always got something goin'!  Maybe a garden theme...the critters, the bugs, the birds and the flowers, too.  Probably a sampler type format.  The blocks will only be 6."  And a few of the 'bugs and such' right here:

(Mr. Bumble still needs his eye)
These guys are stitched with wool felt and a bit of fabric.  I am going to try and stay within a certain range of colors, the deep golds, olive green, black (of course!), grey and tan.  I'll see how that works out!

Thanks for taking time to visit.

Baby Giraffe

My baby giraffe needs a name...Geoffrey is already taken by Toys R Us...I'll have to think on this one for a while.  Any suggestions?  Here he is all decked out in his pretty striped tie!

New beginnings

Another new quilt is just beginning.  A baby quilt this time!
Exciting news!  I am going to be a grandmother this summer.  Of course, there has to be a baby quilt.  I designed a fun, little guy just for my son and his wife.   Here's just a tiny peek:

Just cut out this morning, and ready to be stitched and embellished!

Almost there...

April is just around the corner, as well as my wedding anniversary...April lst.  Yep, yep, I know.  How could you?  Well, let's put it this way, my husband has never forgotten the date!  Ha, Ha!

Here is Little Bo Sheep dressed in her raincoat for all those April showers that will be coming our way.

(holding her chocolate bunny from Easter)

Couldn't forget Annabelle!  Here she is in her raincoat and hat with her polka-dotted umbrella.

The Quirky Hare & Co.

There you go!  A link to my Facebook page for my designs.  There is still one design available for free...my Little Bo Sheep Bride.  Take a peek.  Plus, I sometimes post pictures there of the projects I am currently doing.

Little Bo Sheep welcomes March.  Check out her 'lion/lamb' topsy turvy doll.

Beautiful weather here today...can't believe there was snow here a little while ago.

Fun Flowers

Lots of fun and funky flowers for my Luv'n Ewe project.  They still need a good pressing.  I'm having a lot of fun with all the bright colors this time.  Lots of embellishing happening, too!
