I really have been stitching....

HEATHER

I found a packet of the Mill Hill 2026 beads that I needed to complete this little Letter Fairy - "H" Heather.

Since I got the NPI that I ran out of from The Stitching Post on Friday, I finished the beading and the Rhodes stitches on my Mini Mystery Mandala III.

Long Time -

with no real stitching posts! I think this is the longest I have gone without any stitching updates. I have been stitching, but with so little progress to show on anything, that it was not worth posting any pictures. But - today I finally finished my last reindeer - Comet - boy, does this little guy have a lot of beads! Look at all his snowflakes!

Comet WIP(b)

Rumor has it that there is to be a Rudolph to go along with the rest of the flying crew! And that there also might be a sleigh in the works, too! If the sleigh is anywhere near as sparkly as these reindeer have been - it should be gorgeous!

Merry Christmas!

May your Christmas be Merry and Bright! I wish you plenty of good times with your friends and family. May your stocking be filled with all the extra stitching time you need for the coming new year!

Thank you all for coming by to visit me during this past year. :o)

Finally, an update...

Advent Calendar 2008 WIP(o)

My Advent calendar piece all up-to-date! (My snowman got a nosejob....I thought the charted nose made him look too much like a duck or penguin.)

Advent (again!)

Here's today's portion all finished:

Heather and a Little Church

I worked on the next part for the Chatelaine Advent piece. A cute little church. Those blue areas to the left are the start of today's portion. Look like they might eventually be some bigger trees.

I started one of the Alphabet Letter Fairies the other night....Heather...(I finished her wings first this time!):

Pearly Snowflakes!

Well, after the major organization of my stash, I am finding all kinds of wonderful things. One was this little box of pearls by SJ Designs (not sure if they are still in business or not). I used them in place of some of the gold beads on my snowflakes on the Advent calendar from Chatelaine Designs.

Not the best picture. The linen is actually a light natural color, but since my rechargeable batteries for my camera do not want to hold a charge, this is another scanned picture. Also, since I used DMC variations 4210 for the candles in the border, I matched the red threads required for the "ornaments", rather than use the bright reds.

Golden snowflakes!

Here is yesterday's part (the gold backstitching), as well as today's (the crystal beads):

More Greenery

The part for yesterday was another color green. So far, I am liking this one. Today's part will have gold backstitched snowflakes across the top.

Advent Calendar 2008 WIP(e)

I have not purchased anything for this design, as of yet. There were a couple of color changes, but they were pretty close matches for the recommended threads. I used Crescent Colours Grasshopper for the first part of the greenery and Anchor 278 for the second. The design calls for quite a few crystals (no regular beads). I think I will use the crystals I have on hand, since I really did not want to invest any money into this particular design. Besides, I have soooo much stash, I am sure that I will find something appropriate.

Emerging from the Pile

is my Woodland Fairy. She has been a WIP for a very long time. Since sorting all my stash, I had set her aside to work on again. She is such a pretty fairy and I want to see my WIP pile come down a little bit....Woodland Fairy WIP

(I am probably going to redo those backstitch lines on her arm, or add a lot of little quarter stitches to fill everything in....I really just do not like all those empty spaces that show. I need to backstitch her lips, too...just did not have DMC 915 to finish them.)

~ What's This? ~

Advent Calendar 2008 WIP(a)

It's the beginning of Chatelaine Designs Advent Calendar pieces for 2008! This picture shows Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 (not quite completed ;), but getting there!) Those little red Rhodes stitches with the gold are supposed to be candles. The new part for today is a row of gold right next to the inner green rectangle that will frame the entire piece.

Mini 03

I worked on this little mandala again last night.

You can see where I had completed the second row of black (the night before), the rust areas, a few Rhodes stitches and just barely a start with another village. Oh, and yep, another scanned picture.

Mini Mandala III

Martina released the last part for this little mandala a day early. I worked on one of the corners with the little buildings:\\

Oriental Harem Garden

I worked on the copper braid portions of this last night, until I started making too many counting mistakes on the last corner. Then I filled in a bit of the Mediterranean thread on the upper corner.

Harem

Well, as long as it keeps my attention, I am going to keep working on my Oriental Harem Garden (Chatelaine Designs). I completed the outer portion of the copper outlines. Now I just have to go back and fill in the rest of the motifs. By doing it this way, I was sure that everything lined up, before I invested a lot more time in finishing the center portion of the copper braid, only to find out it didn't meet at the right point. Much more simple to stitch than explain!

Oriental Harem Garden

I worked on this one for quite a while yesterday. I managed to complete the inside of one portal, another window and some of the outlines for the building. I just love the combination of colors on the door and windows.

Pssst....don't tell....I used the wrong color bead for one symbol....I decided not to take it out.

Comet

Well, with all the sorting and cleaning going on, I have not stitched that much lately. I did work on Comet for a little while last night:

"G"

for Gwendolyn! This is my beginning on another of the Letters from Nora, the letter "G".

I like how Nora has changed the pose for each of the little fairies. You never know what each one will be doing!

More Medieval

I stitched one more of the buildings on MTM yesterday. Only one large building and one smaller one to go for this side to be finished. Then it is just two more corner sections and a half of a bush/flower on a third corner to go. Those bush/flowers were not a favorite part for me...to much confetti...

Gonna try...

and post a few pictures. I haven't worked on very much stitching this week, since I have been cleaning and reorganizing the entire basement. My goal was to eventually get to my ...hmmm...how shall I say it....humongous pile of stash and get it organized. The basement itself is now done and I have begun the project of working on organizing my stash. I have all the drawers, bins and containers...now I just need to sort everything....

Anyway, here's the little bits of stitching I did manage:

Comet (Nora Corbett)

and a very small start on the newest Alphabet Fairy- G:

Woah!!

OK, a tornado warning is in effect...I was going to upload some pictures...guess I'll wait until this passes.....

Tagged

I have been tagged by Ashley to share six random things about myself, according to the rules.

The rules are as follows:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know your entry is up.

So here are six random things about me:

1. I started stitching with needlepoint.
2. I love anything with bees, ladybugs or sheep.
3. I went to art school when I was 13.
4. I love anything Christmas.
5. I barely watch any TV.
6. I visited my grandparents in Germany when I was 16.

There are so many wonderful blogs I read, that I am going to pass on choosing six. I appreciate you choosing mine, Ashley; thank you!

The central large building on the last side is done with the exception of the Jessica stitches.
I also completed the building right next to it, too!

What?? Long time...

Upper corner progressTop

Inner Corner

no see! It's Medieval Town Mandala. Because I forgot how beautiful this one was, a few pictures of different portions.

After working on Mini Mandala Mystery III and remembering how gorgeous the colors were in MTM, I pulled it out from hiding. This picture shows a little bit of progress on the last central building. I completed all the portion below the green roof.MTM WIP

The corner of a corner

Well, that's what it is...Harem-Part 5 & 6 WIP(c)

One fourth of one corner - done. Lots of pretty blues in this part.

Part 2 - Done!

I finished up Part 2 of MMM03:

Part 2(B)

The next part has all the rust colored buildings. I'm looking forward to getting this one done.

More MMM03

Here's one of the corners for MMM03, showing DMC 3761, which I substituted for the DD Snowy River thread. The DD thread was too pale and looked mostly white to gray with about an inch of blue.

And...my overall progress:

MMM03

More of Part 2. I was not too happy with how the recommended Snowy River thread looked on my white fabric. It was going to be the last row in the outer border. Too pale on my white fabric. I decided to try another thread, Mediterranean Waterlily, with a final row of black for the outer border. I still used the recommended Snowy River for the Rhodes stitches.

MMM03

We finally received the charts for Part 2 of the Mini Mandala Mystery III yesterday.
Thanks to Anne Marieke who figured out the correct placement for this next part, I was able to get the central outline of the cross shape in place as well as start the outer corner.

Harem-Part 5 & 6 WIP

I did the copper braid outline of the first corner for Part 6, which was released yesterday.

Athena

I worked on the bottom portion of my Scream House yesterday. I have almost finished the outer border. Just the little design in the center to do yet. Every picture I take of this one seems to come out blurry - not sure why.

Then, later last night I pulled Athena out and worked on the column and her gown for a little while.
