Little Bo Sheep

Here is the next free pattern for Little Bo Sheep for April on Craftsy.  Bo is dressed as a lion.  I know, I know...it really is more applicable for the month of March.  She just turned out too cute to not use this one.  Look at that face!

She still has a few raindrops to help with those May flowers!
And the free pattern for March on Craftsy.  Little Bo is all decked out in her top hat.  She has found that elusive, four-leaf clover!
I hope you enjoy the free patterns.  These will be available for approximately one month for free.  After that time, a small fee will apply.

Thanks for stopping by.  Wishing everyone  the merriest Christmas!!

As promised...

Here she is!  Little Bo Sheep's January block.  She is ready to celebrate the arrival of the new year.  This block differs a bit from my drawn pattern.  I decided to add the year to the background instead of her hat.  She also has a 'tassel' on her hat instead of the drawn pom-pom.  Here is a close-up of her hat.
The pattern is available for free for about a month (probably until December 19, 2015) on Craftsy.  Here's the link:  LITTLE BO SHEEP'S JANUARY

LITTLE BO SHEEP'S FEBRUARY

LITTLE BO SHEEP'S FEBRUARY  There you go...the link for one of the next free Little Bo Sheep blocks.  February has Bo spreading love with her heart-shaped balloon and some cute, heart flowers.  Always a good time for some heart felt wishes.  And...no....I did not forget January.  I thought I had both of them ready.  You know how that goes.  I need to make a correction to the file.  I'll probably have it ready tomorrow.

Christmas Fun!

OK...since the beginning of the year, I have been working on bits and pieces for a new Christmas quilt ..  And it's not your ordinary green and red.  All the pieces are not ready for any assembly yet, however, I wanted to show a little of what it will have.  Candy canes, stockings, a tree, my Annabelle bunny as well as Peek-a-Boo Mouse (although not in these photos) mittens and more.  It probably won't be ready for this Christmas.  Have a look:

Sheep..and more sheep

What do you do when you can't sleep??  Usually I play around on Facebook...but I thought I would do a blog update this time.  So...something different.

I have been updating another room in our house.  This time it's the master bedroom.  I finally got my gold, tan, and black version of my A-Z for Ewe and Me quilt back from the quilter.  It is just a tad bit larger than the top of my bed...so a nice coverlet underneath with a new dust ruffle.  I ordered a new headboard...very simple, a bit plain, black metal.  The walls will be painted just in time for Thanksgiving.  A few new rugs and it will be pretty close to being done.

But here's what I have been working on to go with the quilt...new valances, a bit of trim on curtains I already had and a new, looong pillow for the top of the bed.

The valances with the  polka-dotted sheep and the black sheep:

The center portion of the A-Z for Ewe and Me quilt:

and my favorite...the 'flock' pillow:

The sheep and flowers are elements from the border of the quilt.
I hope you enjoyed playing around with me and the flock!

I know...I know...it's not September yet.   But...only two short weeks away.  I thought I would show my new block for Little Bo Sheep with it's September theme.

I am making this pattern available for free  on Craftsy.  Here's a link to the pattern  Bo on Craftsy, which will be free until September 15, 2015.  After that date there will be a small fee.

Those autumn leaves are just beginning to fall.  Bo is ready to enjoy all those delicious apples!  Yum!

Whew!!

My father-in-law had a neighbor who, invariably during the summer, would always ask..."Hot 'nuff for ya, Dave?"  Now..how hot is hot enough?  I guess it all comes down to perspective.  But it has been "nuff" for me!  :)))

Little Bo Sheep, on the other hand, has been enjoying her summer.  A nice, new pair of sunglasses and a BIG piece of watermelon!  Looks like she should have tried the seedless variety! ;)

This is one of the  blocks I have prepared for a new yearly project.  Each block will feature Bo with a special outfit or activity for the month.  Anyone interested in joining me?

July!

How can it be?  July, already??   A half of a year gone by?  Zoom.......I thought I would have a few more projects completed by now.  I've already seen some things about Halloween!

Anyway, I did finish the July Snow Happy Heart.  Another cutie from Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs.

A look at the overall block in my quilt.

And, yet another new idea....monthly blocks highlighting my Little Bo Sheep.  These will be able to be used as individual blocks for different uses, or as an overall full-size quilt.   Rather than start at the beginning of the year, here she is for July, being so very patriotic with her 'liberty' hat and flag.

Happy July Bo!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope every one is having a great summer!

Snow Happy Hearts - June

Another month and a new Snow Happy Heart!  Here is June's heart from Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs:

Here are a few shots of a special project I made for a friend of mine to celebrate her birthday.  This one is called "Spider Plant."  My friend dislikes spiders immensely. ;)  Of course, I had to make something with spiders!
The three main spiders.  One to wish upon a star to never have another spider in your house again.  Another with a bulls eye...aim and stomp!  And the third, have a heart - let them go.

I can not believe that this one is almost half way there!

Beginnings

A new beginning!  I finally opened a Facebook page for The Quirky Hare & Co. designs.  It seems I spend less and less time posting here on Blogger.  I will keep updates about my designs on the Facebook page for now.  Here is the link for anyone who might be interested:

Inspiration

There are times (lots) when I feel totally uninspired to work on anything.  I have a ton of projects in the works; however, there are those days when nothing, I mean nothing, appeals to me.  But, then I have one of those days where the sun is shining, the birds are chirping and a completely, brand new idea pops into my head and calls my name.  It's these sort of projects I love.  They seem to go together quickly and already complete without any struggle on what to do next.

Wooly Patches is one of those!  Small, simple, and fun!  Little Bo Sheep and her friends make an appearance.  I knew I wanted something, simple, but graphic.  And so we have, Wooly Patches:

A bit of patchwork; a little applique; some wool felt and checkerboards!  I think those wider borders call for a fancy quilt design!

I hope you enjoy this new one.  I had a lot of fun working on these 'wooly' friends!

April

Can you believe it?  Considering the weather the past few weeks, it is a bit difficult to realize that it really is April! But...things are improving!  We had wonderful weather yesterday for Easter. :)

Look who helped to celebrate with her chocolate bunny!  Little Bo Sheep is ready for those April showers with her brand, new raincoat.  And look...a few little raindrops have splashed onto the front.

I finished my Snow Happy Hearts for March and April.  Actually March was finished last month; I forgot to post the pictures. Ooops!  Some one else who is ready for those April showers

I have the center of the quilt all prepared for the remaining snowmen.  There will be a lot less work to do for those months. Only a few borders to add at the end.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit!
