Athena

I worked on the bottom portion of my Scream House yesterday. I have almost finished the outer border. Just the little design in the center to do yet. Every picture I take of this one seems to come out blurry - not sure why.

Then, later last night I pulled Athena out and worked on the column and her gown for a little while.

Ooooooohhhh,,,,,oooooohhhhh

Does that seem spooky? Hope so...I have been working on my Just Nan Scream House. I finished up all the missing portions and beads (which look like little tiny pumpkins) on the first panel of the haunted house etui. JN Scream House (2)a

I also finished the second panel with the mummy. The lines to show his "wrappings" do not show very well, both in the picture or IRL. I may have to change that to a little darker thread, since otherwise I think he looks just like another ghost.JN Scream House (2)

I also made a small start on the bottom panel last night, although there is not a lot to show other than black lines.

Thanks to everyone for coming by! I really enjoy reading all your comments. They truly brighten my day!

Forward and back

Well, I made some progress on Athena. I stitched some of the gold colors on my first column. But, I also had to take out some of the foliage I had already stitched to the far right of that column. Hence, a little bit forward and a little back.

Vixen

I know...I know...another start. But I am trying to get all eight reindeer finished, and, they are pretty quick to stitch. Anyway...all uh, hmm...all "justifications" aside....here's my start on Vixen.

Vixen (WIP)

A bow and a wreath are all the adornments for this one. Usually once that portion is done, the reindeer itself is pretty quick. So - onto the wreath around Vixen's neck!

A switch (again)

ToTF(i)

From Harem to Trick or Treat Fairy. I finished her pumpkins last night. There is a half of a spider web that still needs to be completed as well as one more web. Then I think I will tackle her moon. Once the moon is finished, the beading as well as filling in the rest of her skirt.

Harem

And another day of Harem. The upper portion of the building is done, except for the beads. So - of course I had to see what the start of those palm trees would look like.

Here's some of the greens below the palm trees and one lonely trunk.

First...

more Harem:Oriental Harem Garden

I got a bit more done than I expected yesterday. Two windows, more blackwork and some of the top right hand side of the building. There is just a small portion to finish filling in on the top and then the black backstitching. I did change out one of the specialty stitches, too. There were supposed to be woven waffle stitches in the upper corners of the windows. Tried 'em - didn't like how they looked. So, I used a partial diamond eyelet instead.

Second...

Athena:

I did manage a little bit of progress on her last night. The bits of the gold column on the right...every little bit helps, right?

Harem

Some progress on Harem! (Yeah!) All the black outlines are done. I filled in some of the scalloped border, too. I stitched as much of the Gloriana Pumpkin thread that I could, since I ran out. Now to fill in all those windows and portals!

A better picture

Mini Mandala Mystery III....a better picture than this morning's.

MMM03 WIP(cd)

MMM03

MMM03 WIP(c)Part 1 is done! I think that this one is my favorite out of the mini mandalas, so far. I just love the colors and shape of this one. I had found some of the 078 beads - but I only had about 30 beads. The entire mandala requires more. However, there were enough of those 078's to at least fill in the center area. I'll add the beads as soon as I receive them.

More Midnight Stitching

OK, I really do not want this to become a habit! But look at the pretty results of my "midnight madness." This is a WIP of Part 1 of the Mini Mandala Mystery III by Chatelaine Designs. Much prettier in person. That gold really does shine! Now to finish up the other three sides. Hopefully, during the day this time!

"The Zone"

OK, time for me to "wax poetic" a bit. No, this is not about the Twilight Zone...not at all. It's about that "zone" that your mind reaches when you are stitching. Stitching something you are totally enjoying. There are no unwanted visits from those pesky frogs. Every stitch is just so. Your threads do not tangle and knot. You stitch happily and pleasantly instead of being frustrated by every single stitch you make. That "zone". Been there? Well, last night for the first time in a very long time (especially with my recent visitations from the frogs)...I was in "the zone." I forgot what it was like. When I first started stitching, I was in "the zone" all the time. I loved everything I worked on. Now, this is not to say I do not like the pieces I am stitching. It just seems that the older I become, the harder it is to reach "the zone." Too many life distractions, family, home obligations, bills, etc., you know, just too much some days. I have always used my stitching as an escape from life's realities. (At least during the stitching process.) But last night was just one of those "old time" calm, happy, "I love stitching" feelings again. I did not want to stop last night. Here the clock said midnight, and I was still ready to go...but I put my stitching away...all the time thinking..."Yes..it's still here.":))

After my complete rambling on above, I am sure you would like to see the result of my "zone" stitching, right? Here's Fran (Letters from Nora, Nora Corbett Designs. :))
