December already??!!

How can this be...only 24 days until Christmas....Wasn't it just Halloween?? :))

Today brings two new parts for Annabelle's Adventures. Block 7 shows Annabelle and her flag, all dressed up for a parade.

Hmmm...Blogger seems to be giving me a problem uploading photos today.  You can always go to my pattern store on Craftsy to see the latest blocks for Annabelle's Adventures.

Annabelle is flying her kite in Block 8 with one of the few breezes that came through for August.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you are enjoying this journey of Annabelle along with me.

Won't be long....

You know how it goes....once Thanksgiving is here....the next thing you know, you turn around and it's Christmas!  So my Christmas spirit showed up a little early this year.  Here are three little ornaments I have made.

Two (the bunny and mouse) are from last year.  The sheep is new.  What is also new is that I have finally made a pattern for all three.

If you are interested, you can see the pattern info here on Craftsy.

Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone has a fun and wonderful Halloween.  Halloween is one of my favorite times of year, especially for stitching and quilting projects.

Now let me introduce you to some new friends I have made (no, literally, I made them.)  Billy Bone-a-Parte and his partner, Belle ('cause she is so 'boo-tiful!)   I had this idea sometime last year, but got stuck when trying to make Billy.  He  was a lot of fun to make.  Just to get an idea of how big Billy is, this is a shot of him on the sofa.  He even has body parts.  Remember the Operation game we had as kids (and it's still around)?  Something like that..with a broken heart, bats in the belfry, a frog in his throat, a hang nail...you get the idea.  He is all dressed up with his spats and cuffs.  After making Billy, I decided he needed a partner.  Belle is a, how can I say this?  A spirited girl!  with her sparkly hair, long eyelashes and what appears to be a mole on her cheek (it's a teeny spider!) .  Belle is not quite picture  ready, but will be soon.  They are an 'enchanting' couple, to say the least., OK, enough puns, right?

Have a great Halloween!

Annabelle's Adventures

Well, hard to believe but October is just around the corner!  I have Blocks 3 and 4 of Annabelle's Adventures ready on Craftsy.   Blocks 3 and 4.
 Here's a peek:

In Block 3 you will find Annabelle collecting her basketful of shamrocks.  She also found her lucky four-leaf clover!  The shamrocks are three dimensional made with wool felt.

For Block 4 Annabelle has her yellow raincoat and umbrella.  She's having a great time splashing about in the puddles left over from those April showers!  :))

Little bit of red

Here's a peak at something new I have been doing.  Some red work!  First two blocks of my version of the Twelve Days of Christmas.  A small beginning...a few more blocks to stitch before any assembly.  Of course there will be wool felt, too!  Some hearts and swags and flowers.  ;)

There's always something in the works around here!

BIG NEWS!!

Lots of big news to share.  Yes, yes, I know...where have I been?  Preparing new things, getting ready for today!  I have opened my own store on Craftsy!  I have my very first pattern, "Annabelle's Adventures" available now.

Annabelle's Adventures is a BOM (really two blocks per month) for my fun, embellished bunny!  She has patchwork, wool felt and regular applique as well as lots of extras...beads, buttons, metallic threads, as well as ribbons.

Here's a peek at the first block:

Annabelle is all set to bring in the new year.  Her sash can be used to stitch the date the year the quilt is completed.   She has some pretty ribbon for her hat and a few beads for her clothes.  After a few simple embroidery stitches (running stitches, back stitches, satin stitches and chain stitches) she is ready to celebrate!

The blocks will  be available around the first of each month for the next six months.  I would love to have you join me on this brand new 'adventure' for myself and Annabelle.

Blogging (not so much)

It has recently been pointed out to me that I haven't been blogging as much.  There are several reasons...one...I have definitely been spending waaay too much time playing games on Facebook.  Another...there are just too many wonderful quilting blogs to visit each day.  But mainly, quite a few home improvements going on around here.

First, a new roof,  then the kitchen:  All new appliances; a new granite counter top with new sink and faucet with a copper backsplash (not real copper) and finally (as of yesterday) a new floor.  I had also tried my hand at redoing my kitchen table and chairs.  The table and chairs were originally wood-tone top and seats with dark green for the rest.  I changed the green portions to black and redid the top of the table and seats of the chairs (six of them!)

Then I decided I should also do the square coffee table in the living room.  That one actually took a bit longer to do, since I had to sand the top down to the bare wood.   Believe it or not, all the chairs, and two tables were painted with Rustoleum Lacquer finish paint.
So newly painted front door,  new curtains, new slipcover for the sofa (yep!  that is a slipcover from Surefit), new lampshades (where I added the trim on top with ric rac) things in the kitchen and living room are pretty much done.  Whew!

You can see my Berries and Bluebirds quilt handing on the quilt shelf.  I also got my Wish Quilt back from the quilter.  It still needs the binding to be stitch down, but here is a picture of one corner with the candy-cane stripe border.

I guess that explains where I've been.  But...there are still three bedrooms left to tackle! ;)

A month?

Wow!  A whole month has gone by without a post.  I have been working on so many of my projects, I haven't taken any time to show my progress.

Here's a couple pictures of one of my favorites:

This the April's portion for the A-Z for Ewe and Me quilt by Janet Stone for The Quilt Show.  Lots of fun, especially since I love sheep!

Since I have enjoyed working on this quilt so much...call me crazy....but I started another one in different colors:
Lots of dots in this one!
Here is the section with the sheepie!

A-Z March Blocks

Here are the letters H and I for the month of March for my A-Z for Ewe and Me BOM.   I am really enjoying the mixture of applique and piecing for this BOM.

February, already?

Doesn't it seem as though we were just opening all those Christmas presents?  Well, with the start of the new year, comes the beginning of a few (...ahem...) new BOM's.

I tried.  I really tried.  I even waited until February.  I couldn't help it...I had to join.  It has sheep.  Not in the first two sections, but a little bit later.  What more can I say? You know that compulsion that overtakes all reasoning.  I joined the new Quilt Show BOM for this year.  It's Janet Stone's, ABC's with(for) Ewe and Me.  I have seen the title both ways.  Oh...and my letters and stars are wool felt (gotta get that felt in there somewhere!)

Here is January's part::
...and February's:
I love my little basket. :))

Now to wait almost a whole month for the next part.:((

A few things

I joined the Fellowship of Flowers with the Raspberry Rabbits.  One wool felt flower each week for a year.  52 flowers!!  It will be fun to see what we do with all these flowers.  The one above is my version of the latest one, a daisy.

And here we have another freebie BOM from P3 Designs.  Gotta love those free ones!  This is my version of the first block, the Hollyhock.  Only a few more days until the next one!
These are the first two flowers for The Fellowship of Flowers.

So many projects going on behind the scenes, I can barely decide which one to work on each day. ;0

"Wish" Come True!

Yeah!  One wish came true for 2013.    The 'wish' was to finish this quilt before the year ended.   This is the freebie pattern, "The Wish Quilt" offered by Red Brolly.  It was done on December 27, 2013. :)  The main reason this one languished in the UFO pile was all those checkerboard panels. Now to have it quilted and be ready for next Christmas.

Now, if you look closely, there are four stars with the family names on them.  These are really little pockets where a small card is inserted with that person's Christmas wish.  A cute idea, right?  Of course, I had to have some wool felt in there, too. ;)  Look at the reindeer...there it is!
