I'm getting lost in the desert!

A little joke...(OK, OK, very little). I am still working on my Desert Landscapes Mandala.

I have finished the over-one hawk, as well as the additional thread on top of my tree....still not quite happy with it, but I have to think on it for a bit. And all the outlines for the outer border are done waiting for the innards ;) to be stitched.

Part 1 WIP(c)

I am still thinking about filling in that lightening bolt with the background colors. I just think it looks like a "white" tree branch and not lightening. Agree or disagree?? Let me know what you think about it. I think it would be a "calmer" version of night in the desert.

I entirely agree with you, Michele, it looks like a branch and it makes it look a bit busy. There is enough going on already in that part of the project. Just my 2 cents'.

Oh, and it looks absolutely gorgeous!

I think it makes it look mysterious kind of a spooky desert night. If you take it out that side of the design might look a little bare. Just MHO. Pretty colors and I can't wait to see what goes in the outer areas. Great work.

Hmmmmm.
I would not take it out. Màybe it would look better stiched with PB 02(a silvery gold)?

That scene is stunning, what lovely colours! It would be a pity to leave out the lightning, so how about this: stitch the bottom leg of each lightning cross in the background colour, and the top leg with the braid? That way it won't stand out as starkly, and it will blend with the background. Just a thought, whatever you do it will be beautiful!

Very good ideas, Margit and Gio...I may have to give them a try. There might be a lightening show yet. :)

I like the lightning, too. Some Kreinik 032 should electrify it a bit.
