All the angels

Here's a quick picture of my angel quilt.  Now it has been folded, and has not been pressed yet...so plenty of wrinkles.

Still, you get to see what it looks like overall.  I am especially fond of this guy (who was created at the suggestion of my friend, Anne Marieke.)  :))

Another favorite part is the teddy bear (which I did show in a previous post, but will show again):

..and the raindrops on my 'April showers" angel (which actually showed up in the picture, for a change!).

and another one

BOM (block of the month), that is....you know I have actually lost count of how many I have in progress, joined and am a  current member....tut....tut...tut...., but what can I say?  They make me happy...and keep me out of trouble. ;)

This is the second block for the Born to Quilt Mystery for 2013...Miss Rose.  I have made several changes to mine, including leaving off her hat and giving her a new hairstyle.  I also do not usually like 'words' on my quilt blocks.  Sometimes they are OK...but I left them off for this block.  Here she is, my Miss Rose.

You have probably already noticed...she is not stitched yet.  It took me quite a bit of time today to get this block together.  I'm pretty happy with it...with the exception of those pleats, that will be straightened when stitched.  Check out those boot buttons! :))

Thanks for visiting my blog and for your always generous compliments.

Last angel

...and here is the last little angel for my quilt.  Still a bit wrinkled, as she has not had a pressing yet.  A close-up of her dress embellishments:

Another angel

I am calling this one 'Sweet Dreams.'  A little angel in her nightgown and nightcap with her teddy bear, of course. :)

A close-up of the wool felt teddy bear...I love how he turned out.

I did not have a 'cuddly' as a child.  My older son had a teddy bear.  A friend had given us a beautiful Gundt anniversary edition bear for him when he was born.  I put it in his crib.  Once he discovered it, it went every where with us.  He eventually had to wear an infant t-shirt to cover his worn belly.   I saved "Bear", of course.  Washed him one more time and hung him by his ears to dry, packed him away in a shoebox.  Several years ago,  I came across the box when sorting through some things.  I took the box and gave it unopened to my son, who was 17 at the time.  He opened the box...tears came to his eyes, and he exclaimed..."Bear!" and hugged him just as if he were two years old.  It was wonderful to see that childlike love in my teenager's eyes once more.

Angels

These were created last year....I had put them aside, as I could not decide what to do with the four blocks that were done.  Well, after sitting down and making a plan, this is what developed.  I am still going to make two more angels...one is in the works, "Sweet Dreams" with a little wool felt teddy bear for the angel.  I am still trying to decide between two others for the last one.

The original design for the angel is from the Garden Angel block of Shabby Fabrics "Blessings of Spring."  I have used the original as the basis for each one of these, but want to give credit where credit is due.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. :)

Quilt Me Club 2013

Here's a partial view of my bread basket block....sorry about the wrinkles...it's been done, but was put away for a bit...and, of course....there are those darn stray little threads!

This is another portion of the second installment for the Quilt Me Club 2013 from Nataliejo.

If you are interested, it seems that there are still a few places left to join in.
