Zig Zags and Lightbox

Yeah!  My birthday present came today!  I'm so excited and can't wait to try it out!  A brand new Artograph LightPad.  I wanted the 11" x 17" size.  I immediately unpacked it as soon as it was dropped off on my doorstep.  It is great!  It lies flat!  The lighting is all uniform across the surface!  

 There is only one down side to it...it is a bit expensive.  But...I have been using my current light box forever.  It never seems to give me the light where I need it most.  I am always squinting and lifting the pattern to see underneath. To me, this is well worth the money...well...not that I spent it.  A very nice birthday present indeed from my husband, Dave.  Thank you lots!

It has a nice protective sleeve to store it it, as well.  Doing the Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy Dance...(any body remember that....Ren and Stimpy?)

Anne Marieke sent me this beautiful 4 Seasons chart from NenneDesign. She also sent me the gorgeous linen threads that are used to stitch this one. I have never tried the linen threads, so this will be a fun experiment!

More birthday goodies...and some new stash

We went out for a great lunch for my birthday (Carol and Kathleen, that is--thanks, guys!). Look what they gave me for my birthday, Olde Colonial's Miss Penny!! I have looked at her several times since she first came out and never bought her. She is just too sweet; her entire body is made of wood and she has a little slip and pantaloons on as well. Just too cute. (check out Klawd's foot in the background...he was checking out Miss Penny, too!)

We stopped at The Stitching Post before we went to lunch. I did add a few things to my basket while I was there. The Crescent Colours finish up my collection. I love the flip-flop thread drops. :) Kathleen also brought me the new Prairie Schoolers and Just Cross Stitch magazine from Needlecraft Corner, as well as the new PS freebie.

Lookee!! Lookee!! Look at what Margit sent me for my birthday! Two very nice charts, a beautiful card (I love the little fairies) and inside the card...a little bee charm that I will be able to use on a future Mini Mandala. :)) Thanks so much for your kindness, Margit!
