.....it all began with one thread....

Whoooo??

My little owl, thats "who!"  This is the first block for my Baltimore Halloween quilt.  There have actually been four blocks sent out so far.  I just could not decide how I wanted to do this one...needleturn applique, blanket stitch or invisible thread outline stitching.   Well, I went with the invisible thread.  A lot quicker than the other two.  Plus those tree brances are really skinny and some of the pieces are only 1/2 inch in size!!

I did let the threads of the fabric fray a bit on purpose on the branches, to help give it a little more "creepy" look.  This is a fun quilt by P3 Designs.  It is done in the same fashion as a regular Baltimore Album quilt, but with a Halloween theme.  Lots of witches hats, black cats and spiders!

I still have to go over this one and trim up any loose threads, as well as erase some of my pencil markings, then a final pressing.

Thanks everyone for coming by.  I love reading all the great comments from each of you!

I love this block! And the expression on the owls face - almost like he's cocking his eyebrow at us!

I swear we are thisclose to having the exact same taste.

I'm working on the Hats & Cats block right now. Ok, I'm *supposed* to be working on it.

Where are you getting your BOM from? I bought mine 2 years ago from Amidon Quiltworks.

That's too funny, isn't it, Missy Ann? :)

I am getting my blocks from Honeybee Fabrics. You must already have all your blocks. I have four so far....that fruit basket is #2...but I was bad....skipped it last night and went straight to Block #3 with the bats and spiders! Block #4 is the cat heads and witches hats.
