Addicted

Yep, I am coming clean....I am addicted.  To what, you say?  Stitching, quilting?  Well, those are not addictions (he, he)....those are hobbies!  Nope....Jim Shore....I just love his pieces.  When I saw this one, it, of course, screamed at me - BUY ME NOW!  So I did. :)  I originally had seen the male rabbit who carries a basket appropriately decorated for each season that you can change (Don't worry - he may still find his way to my house!) .  The girl bunny is new...you change her hats...little seasonal hats.  Here she is in her hat decorated for spring.  (Oh, and this is no tiny little bunny....she is about 18" tall!)

Whew!!

Very, very difficult to get the pictures I really wanted for this one.  Big -  humongous Happy Dance time!

The Reindeer Quilt Is Done!!  WooHoo!! A few shots...and yes, some of them are a little bit weird angles.....there are still a few crystals I want to attach, but they probably would not show in any of the photos any way.

Mind you, this quilt takes up the entire top of my kitchen table!

Above you can see the connecting ribbons and crystals I attached to each reindeer.

You can see one of the reindeer names that I quilted into the border on this one.   And ...my little verse for Rudolph.

I must say - cross stitching and quilting were not the easiest thing to combine...but overall, I am pretty happy with the end result.

Peacock

Yep, been holding out....I joined another one...Chatelaine design, that is. ;)  Here's my progress on Part 1 of the Peacock Garden Mystery.

Still quite a bit more to stitch....lots of beads, lots of specialty stitches, too!

Rhiannon

Rhiannon - the little "R" fairy in my alphabet.   Just a very small start for now.  I started at the very top center of the letter "R."

Pink

I have been feeding the birdies and squirrels, as I was feeling bad for them with all the snow we have had.  I had just put out some peanuts and birdseed about ten minutes earlier.  I looked out my kitchen window....and... A pink dove!...Well, not all of her(him)...Usually these doves are very drab brown and grey.  She(he) was sitting and resting on my bench.  Such a pretty mauve/pink color!  (By the way, it is usually the squirrels who are on the bench all the time!)

Whoooo??

My little owl, thats "who!"  This is the first block for my Baltimore Halloween quilt.  There have actually been four blocks sent out so far.  I just could not decide how I wanted to do this one...needleturn applique, blanket stitch or invisible thread outline stitching.   Well, I went with the invisible thread.  A lot quicker than the other two.  Plus those tree brances are really skinny and some of the pieces are only 1/2 inch in size!!

I did let the threads of the fabric fray a bit on purpose on the branches, to help give it a little more "creepy" look.  This is a fun quilt by P3 Designs.  It is done in the same fashion as a regular Baltimore Album quilt, but with a Halloween theme.  Lots of witches hats, black cats and spiders!

I still have to go over this one and trim up any loose threads, as well as erase some of my pencil markings, then a final pressing.

Thanks everyone for coming by.  I love reading all the great comments from each of you!

Nine

Told ya!  Here she is, Quin from Nora Corbett:

But what does "Nine" have to do with this?
After completing Quin, I have NINE letter fairies left to stitch!  (I see you counting out there!):)

Lovett

OK, you probably think I am cheating with the title above (remember....trying to keep the titles to one word?).

Well, I do "love it, love it"....but it was just by chance that I happened to put that pencil with this funny little guy.  He is a little pencil sharpener.  I just couldn't resist him when I was checking out at Joann Fabrics and saw him in those little $1 bargain bins.

.....and yes.....I am stitching.  I have been working on Quin again.  She is getting very close to a finish, which is why I was holding off posting a picture of her.

Stay warm!

Eeek!

Wow!  This icicle formed overnight....it is at least three feet long!  There are a lot more icicles hanging from the house...but this one....just unbelievable!  And yes....I  have had enough of the cold and snow.  I am ready for spring!
(that's the neighbor's pool and shed across the way).

February

Ta Da!!!  Here is my February block for Snowbound:

With all the snow we have had here, maybe that is what I should be doing, too! ;)

ICICLES

Crazy Iciciles
These icicles formed just this morning!  You can see how heavy the tree branches are with the snow.  This tree actually lost a very large branch in the first storm from the weight of the snow.  Still snowing and the wind is starting to gust.  (This picture is out my back window.)

Poor little birdies....I have been throwing seed out for them in a corner close to the house....here's one little snowbird:

Snow

...and more snow....and more snow.  After receiving about two feet of snow the other day, today there is another storm with more snow falling...high winds expected later (hopefully - no power will be lost - crossing fingers now!)...

It only seemed appropriate to work on my second block for the Bunny Hill Snowbound (ha, ha) quilt.   Still working on that one.  But I did also work on the Irish chain blocks that will be between each snowman block.  I still have two more "rows" around the block to complete on thirteen of these squares...but here's a peek at them, so far:

I did scatter them about a bit...but you can see the cream colored polka dot in this photo as well as the cute red and cream print I am using. (Please excuse the threads on the squares...they will be trimmed after the final two borders are attached.)

A little update on my next fairy, "Q" for Quin:

A little more quilting on my reindeer this weekend.  This one is coming along slowly.  No new pictues of this one yet....waiting until the end.:)

PAULINA

....drumroll, please......here's my pretty purple "P" fairy....Paulina:

The background behind the "P" in the frame is charted to be filled in with Crescent Colours Argyle Socks.  I have not filled in any of the other backgrounds on my letters, so continued to do so with this one.

Goofy

Admittedly, this is a very goofy picture.  But as I was stitching away on my letter fairies, I got to thinking about things.  About Kathleen, who had a bit of an accident (and who, I know, reads my blog), these letters, and so on.  Was there actually anything I could spell at this point?  Well, almost.  Without stitching another E, and still missing the yet to be stitched T, here is my hastily pieced together word.  Just for you, Kathleen!  I hope this cheers you up a bit or just makes you laugh out loud!  I wish you the speediest of recoveries and send you all my best wishes.:))  (click on picture to see the whole thing)

And yes, I know there is very little extra fabric on the letter K.  But, remember, I am going to make this into a quilt.  I really don't need much of a seam allowance.;))

WIngs

...not chicken wings or barbecue wings, silly!  The wings on my next little letter fairy, Paulina.  Very sparkly indeed:
